Can I tell you a bit about myself...
I was the sickly-looking kid with headaches, dark circles under my eyes and a host of undiagnosed food intolerances—I often joked "I grew up on aspirin".
Topical steroids got me through my rash-prone teen years. And in my thirties, after flea-bombing the house, I ended up with an embarrassing case of psoriasis on my torso.
In my 40s, stress triggered head-to-toe eczema, hives and an autoimmune condition called Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) which gave me severe food intolerances that left me only able to eat eight foods!
I was in despair and so damn itchy that I could not sleep for days. So if you are going through anything difficult right now, I get it. It’s embarrassing and painful and don’t get me started on the social isolation!
Skin problems also run in my family ... My daughter Ayva was born with eczema and after her skin cleared up she became the inspiration for The Eczema Diet book, which I wrote after seeing eczema patients for many years. Today Ayva has beautiful skin and she lives a normal life.
And me ... I found a way to beat MCAS and all of my skin issues. At the age of 49, I now have baby soft skin and I can eat ALL of the foods I couldn't eat before. The Healthy Skin Kitchen also makes my skin glow with good health and I feel energetic and the happiest I've ever felt.
As mentioned, for the past 20 years I've helped thousands of skin disorder patients get their life back, via my books, clinic, team of nutritionists and skincare company.
I'm also known for helping the so-called 'hopeless cases of eczema' that no one else could fix, with doctors and naturopaths sending these patients my way, or referring them to my books.

Karen, nutritionist and author
Karen has a Bachelor of Health Science Degree from the University of New England in Armidale and a Diploma of Nutrition. She previously ran the Eczema Life Clinic in Sydney. Karen shares her family favourite Healthy Skin Kitchen recipes, her latest tips via podcasts and answers your burning questions.
Bonnie grew up suffering from eczema and in her teen years she found success on Karen's eczema diet program which inspired her to complete a Bachelor of Health Science, majoring in Nutrition and Health Promotion. Bonnie manages the Healthy Skin Kitchen membership.
Katie specialises in gut health and she has designed many of our new skin glow recipes. Katie has worked with Karen Fischer for many years and she helps patients to successfully follow the various Healthy Skin Kitchen programs (including FID) and gain fabulous results.
