DAO Smoothie

Serves 1, preparation time 6 minutes, pre-freeze pear if desired

Cleanse your digestive system and reduce histamines for gorgeous gut wellness with this refreshing smoothie, rich in plant-based sprout DAO. The pulverizing action of the blender releases the DAO, making it readily available. If you would like to grow your own sprouts, refer to ‘How to sprout pea shoots’ (p. 33) or ‘How to sprout mung beans’ (p. 34). If you have acne, psoriasis, rosacea or eczema add Skin Friend AM.

  • 1⁄4 cup celery, washed, strings removed, then finely sliced

  • 1 small handful pea shoots or mung bean sprouts, washed

  • 1⁄2 large pear, peeled, core removed, then diced (pre-frozen)

  • 1⁄2 cup filtered or spring water

  • 4 ice cubes

  • 2 scoops Skin Friend AM (optional) Place all the ingredients into a high-speed blender and blend on high until smooth.
